I designed a compassionate, professional website for an HPCSA-registered counsellor specializing in trauma, grief, anxiety, self-esteem, career guidance, and psychoeducation for teens and adults. The aim was to build trust, educate visitors, and encourage bookings in a sensitive mental health context.
Starting with WordPress as the CMS, I used Elementor Pro to create a fully custom, serene design — no pre-built templates. The aesthetic features soft neutrals, ample white space, and empathetic imagery to foster a calming atmosphere.
My UI/UX expertise informed the layout: a single-page scroll with anchor navigation for easy access to sections like services, topics, and contact, prioritizing emotional user journeys where information builds progressively without overwhelming.
Performance optimizations ensured quick loads, crucial for users seeking immediate support.
Balancing informative content with emotional sensitivity required UX research into mental health sites, leading to simplified navigation and subtle CTAs.
The site builds trust and drives consultations, with clients noting its approachable feel. This project highlights my ability to apply UI/UX principles in sensitive niches, creating custom WordPress/Elementor/JetEngine solutions that prioritize user empathy and engagement.
