San Lameer Estate

Project Overview

San Lameer is a luxury coastal golf resort and family destination on South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. The estate offers self-catering villas, hotel accommodation, two championship golf courses, spa services, mountain biking, beach access and a range of dining and leisure options. The objective was to build a website that presents the full resort experience and drives direct booking enquiries through strong visual storytelling.

The Brief

MM Digital was briefed to develop an immersive, visually strong website that gives potential guests a compelling view of everything the resort offers across all devices. The site needed to load fast despite a high volume of imagery, guide visitors toward making a booking and perform well on mobile for guests researching on the go. MM Digital handled front-end development, content writing, SEO and ongoing maintenance for both the main site and the events subdomain.

What We Built

MM Digital built the main site on WordPress using native HTML5 and CSS, with lightweight carousel components for smooth gallery navigation across activities, accommodation and facilities. Image handling was a core technical priority: responsive images were implemented using srcset and sizes attributes, with lazy loading and async decoding to keep page speeds fast on all screen sizes. Dedicated sections were built for golf, villas, hotel rooms, spa and dining, each structured to give visitors enough detail to make a booking decision. SEO content was written to target relevant search terms for the resort and the broader KwaZulu-Natal South Coast region. As part of the same project, MM Digital also designed and built the San Lameer Events subdomain at event.sanlameer.co.za, giving weddings, corporate functions and private events hosted at the estate a dedicated online presence. Both sites have been maintained and updated by MM Digital since launch.
